Dear basketball fans,
It is with great pleasure that I wish the Henri Seux International Tournament a happy 35th birthday!
This is one of the longest-running, and most important tournaments for youth basketball players in both Africa and Europe, offering, for many of these players, their first taste of international basketball. Every nation represented here arrives with its own unique playing style, which will no doubt rub off on some of their opponents, who will return home to show off their newly discovered skills.
Supporting tournaments such as this year-in, year-out, reiterates the commitment that FIBA has to developing basketball at youth level, assisting in having players prepared for the realities of international competition when they reach FIBA youth tournaments at U16 level.
Organising such tournaments is often an exhaustive, thankless task, requiring a team of tireless, hardworking volunteers. I want to offer a big thank you to all those who fit this description here in Ardres. Without you, this tournament would not have been able to run for 35 wonderful editions.
Finally, I wish to offer a big thank you to the other important volunteers, the parents. It is because of your commitment to getting your children to games and trainings, and supporting them on the sidelines, that allows them to experience magical moments like those that are coming to them in the following days.
Best of luck to all participants,”
